I love lip balms and lipsticks! It’s one of the things that I never go without and is definitely on my Must-Have list. I think it’s because up until quite recently, lip balms and lipsticks were the only types of make up I can expertly put on my face.
So this year, I started running, not just because I wanted to lose some weight but because I know my body needed the work out and since I live in the City of Pines, I decided to take advantage of our fresh air and forest-y scene and just lose myself in the run. What does this have to do with my lips you ask? You see I usually run from 9am to 10am, that is the only time I have, and by that time, the sun is already up, and although our climate stays pretty cool, you can still get sunburned if you’re not careful. I come from a family with a history of skin, breast and bone cancer, so needless to say, I don’t tempt fate and always, always put sunblock whenever I go out in the sun.
Now most people have their body parts covered with sunblock but one part of the body always seems to be overlooked, the lips.
This is why I love Celeteque’s Lip Balm.
Celeteque’s Sun Care Line includes a lip balm that actually has SPF15 to ensure that your lips stay safe from the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. I know I am protected when I go on my run even in the sometimes scorching heat because I know I have proper sun protection.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IT:
- It has SPF15 to protect lips against UVA and UVB rays.
- It has no fruity or overwhelming scent or flavor. – I do like lip balms with flavors that smell good, but it is so refreshing to have a lip balm that doesn’t taste anything and doesn’t smell like anything, it’s perfect for when I want to wear it as a base under my lipstick and perfect for when I go running because it has no flavor to tempt me to eat and no scent to tell my brain I’m hungry. This has mulberry extract so it does smell a bit like a berry, but it’s so mild, you wouldn’t even notice it at first.
- It does what it’s supposed to, moisturize lips and keep it from chapping and protect it from the harmful rays of the sun.
- It can be used on kids too.
- Because it is unscented (it has a very, very mild berry scent that takes a while to be noticed, I only noticed it smelled like a berry after weeks of using it.) and unflavored, men can use it too, it’s been windy these couple of weeks, so the husband and the boy had a mild case of the wind burn and because this had no scent or flavor, they felt it was okay to use it because it wasn’t girly at all. Hahaha!
WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- It comes in an itty bitty package (8 gram size). – Although a little goes a long way when applying lip balms, I wish it came in a bigger size.
- It’s a lip balm tub. – I really wish it was a lip balm tube type of lip balm, I am not a fan of having to use my finger tips to apply lip balm, plus it gets under my nails which is kind of annoying.
WHY YOU SHOULD BUY IT:
- How many lip balms out there have an SPF? Right? You should buy it for that reason alone. Also, it’s a lot cheaper than most medicated brands of lip balms out in the market and the benefits are the same and this one even has an edge over other brands because it has an SPF15.
Summer is coming! Make sure your skin, all of it, including your lips, are well protected from the sun.
